| NAJUWANTE' FITNESS ORIGIN AND MISSION This is to introduce everyone to the fitness ministry that we do and the reasons why it has a gospel overtone to it. This ministry exist not only to improve your physical body but to also improve your spiritual body. Some of us are still working very hard to try and have that undeniable faith that God wants us to have and quite often the only time we set aside time for our spiritual growth with God is for a few hours each Sunday at church; and maybe Wednesdays. I believe that God wants us to be cognizant of him all the time and live, walk, talk, and act in his spirit each day. It is hard for some of us because each day here has us living among the world and seemingly the overall goal of the world is to satisfy physical desires. It is very hard to look past these things that we see regularly and focus more on the things that we don't readily see with our eyes. It can be a challenge living in the world of the physical; especially when you allow it to block you from living in the world of the spirit (the word of God). The vision of this fitness ministry is to offer another alternative in the world of the physical. This is a place where you can have fun just like you would in the world but the difference is our fun is knowing that all the things we do are possible because of God. We try to give that boost in the spirit to keep you going through the day, the week, the year and so on. A lot of times our faith is the only thing that keeps us sane, so you can imagine the turmoil that the faithless endure or will endure at some point. I must admit my reasoning behind starting this fitness ministry was more of selfish inclinations. I always want to be healthy which is achieved by ongoing training of the physical body. However, I seriously lacked the discipline to work at the level and intensity that I desired, so by starting this ministry it put me in a position that forced me to train on a somewhat regular basis. As time went on I realized that there are a lot of physically unfit people in the world and I also learned that this ministry really makes a difference in the lives of those that attend; physically and mentally. |
